An hour before Shabbat I’m on my way to Lewinsky market, shopping for my specials.
I love this time of the day: light is magic and there’s a great vibe. On the street people are rushing, to make it and shop before stores will be closed. Others are stopping for a Vodka shot from a kiosk, leaning against a parking car chatting with friends.
Young and old, they queue for a plate of humus in a neighborhood diner. Some are joining a wine tasting event….
An hour later, the neighborhood becomes quieter and crossing cars are few…
They all went home to prepare Shabbat, everyone in his own way….
